Henkel AG& Co. KGaA’sheadquartersfor Asia-Pacific & Chinawas completed in summer 2007. The building is located in Pudong, Shanghai’s booming economic center on the east bank of the Huangpu River. The new administration and research center stands in a new industrial zone. It’s basic form represents an asymmetrical curving U.
Design for the building was based on the concepts of “skin” and “mantle” and integration of nature with architecture. Environmental compatibility and sustainability were the key guiding principles. However, German IDer Ralf Holleis does them one better with the VRZ 2 Track bicycle, developed under the VORWaeRTZ moniker. (Further details on Holleis's practice are scant; from what I can determine, he's connected to the equally mysterious designlab coburg.)

The folding chair is an object that people tend to either love or hate. It can be easily stored and only brought out when needed, but it isn’t exactly pretty to look at. Designer Leo Salom has created a modern, stylish folding chair that puts that old tubular metal models to shame.

The Folding Chair, designed by Salom for Monstrans, was cut from a single piece of sustainable bamboo plywood. It has cut-out handles on either side for simple transport, and because it’s so thin it can be stacked...

The Zaha Hadid-designed Riverside Museum: Scotland’s Museum of Transport and Travel keeps raking in recognitions [...]: the new Glasgow museum attraction just won the prestigious European Museum of the Year Award 2013, presented by the European Museum Forum. The announcement was made at a special awards ceremony at EMF's annual assembly hosted by the Gallo Romeins Museum in Tongeren in Belgium, EMYA Winner in 2011.
