Curtain, garden pavilion (folly 2012, Socrates Sculpture Park) New York – United States (2012). Arquitectura, Jerome W Haferd, K Brandt Knapp “jwh-kbk.com”.

The project M2 at Bozen-Moritzing is a Klimahouse A which hosts two accommodations on separate floors. Because of his punctuated facade in the north and the east it seems closed to the access road. The plastered basement serves as pedestal for the smaller upper floor, which is covered by cladding sheets. To the garden – towards the south and the west – the house opens because of a generous glass façade.
The two flats are protected against strong insolation in summer by overhanging roofs. The ceiling of the basement serves to the upper floor as a roof terrace, whereas on the roof of the upper floor is the photo-voltaic plant.
The apartments have a direct access from the underground car park.
A continuous wall, which passes parallel to the exterior walls, separates the night area from the...

Facing a small urban square, the Loft Studio opens entirely to the outside. The inner space of this photography studio flows into the side gardens of the building and into the urban space, establishing a spatial continuity between the square and the building. The façade, an aluminum gate is recessed into the concrete binding, integrating the front patio with the square; further, two large swinging metal gates – each more than 11 meters wide – permit fluidity between the gardens and the open space of the studio.
Opened, these swinging gates make all visual barriers between internal and external space disappear. Closed, they allow the light in the Photography Studio to be controlled artificially. In the opening of the ground floor, there is a box clad in formica-china, where we have the...

The difficulty of defining a physical stable environment before the devastating dynamics of the managerial expansion of ARENA MEDIA company led us to turning the architecture into a phenomenon, providing it with the aptitude to appear, to transform and to be eliminated.
The Agencia de Medios Arena Media Communications in Madrid decided to carry out the reform of its offices with an objective double: to maximize the space to shelter a major number of employees and to establish a new commercial image towards the clients and mass media. The initial strategy to solve a program as complex as that of this office, with about eighty workers in continuous change of functions, departed from the idea of placing as mediators between(among) ARENA into an historical building, in the same way as Sand is...
