Stockholm's Konstfack is among the university design departments that occupy the removed North Building of the Javits Center this ICFF, a more manageable—albeit somewhat sparsely populated—exhibition hall in contrast to the main floor of ICFF. Despite—or perhaps because of—the largely theoretical curriculum of graduate programs in Industrial Design, the 11 first-year Master's candidates at Konstfack undertook a self-initiated project to actually make objects, which they first exhibited during Stockholm Design Week back in February. According to the Negative Space website:

Can it be framed by something other than matter?
Can a negative space be made tangible?Ten explorations on the possible meanings of negative space showcasing new and intriguing perspectives. By shifting focus from matter to the space that it occupies, the designers have found new ways of working by investigating the relationship between objects and the surrounding space. Presented here are a series of individual interpretations of negative space, culminating in a fascinating interplay between form, memory, movement, light and time.
Insofar as the theme itself is intangible, the students took a broad range of approaches; even in the case of light, which might be considered an easy metaphor for space, the inspiration and execution varied significantly. Nevertheless, the overall aesthetic of the work is quite minimal, in keeping with both the theme and Scandinavian design language...

Due to the new circumstances ,and the fact that the controlled obsolescence cycles were reaching its own terms ( fact that allows to recycle ourselves at the same tame) we are changing the actual bar to fit the new conditions.
Following the previous experiences after 8 years from the Hotel inauguration and after a deep reflection about the impermanency, we decided to design this new bar with a system much closer to stage building ,by assembling prefabricated modules which allow an easier installation...From Floornature

Today an old favorite! I blogged about this gorgeous home on Formentera two years ago and it has been a favorite of many readers. I just love the use of natural materials. Look at those large wooden doors! Also the wooden kitchen cabinets, the bathroom and the outdoor area are stunning.
Beautiful natural stone tile floors can be found through the entire home.
And of course the bathroom (images above and below) is stunning as well. I love the driftwood mirror, I have a similar one in my home.

Suite à la présentation de leur bahut modulaire An Furniture, le studio KamKam revient pour nous présenter Planet, une table multi plateaux réalisée en Corian.
Idéal pour les nouveaux usages, cette table se divise en trois plateaux de trois tailles différentes vous permettant de placer votre livre ou ordinateur sur l’un, votre téléphone sur un autre et une boisson sur le dernier sans risque de catastrophe.
Chaque plateau est placé est rotatif sur un même axe, placé à une hauteur différente vous pourrez agencer leur disposition d’un seul geste.
Le designer indique que le système solaire, ses planètes et mouvement sont à la source de son inspiration.

Homebush Bay, Australia, plays host to a series of shipwrecked boats- both large and small. After 102 years, the wreckage remains rusted over and still sitting in the waters, with some lodged in brush and debris. There is one in particular called the “SS Ayrfield” that has taken up a newfound purpose in its days.
