Taking place August 28-September 6, the University of Genoa’s San Rocco Summer School (SRSS) will teach you to design buildings by making drawings, copying precedents and talking about corner solutions. Each teacher, who is a member of the San Rocco editorial board, and some friends and colleagues, will participate for two days, taking over the work developed by the colleagues that preceded him in the days before. It is the students who will provide the SRSS with consistency, being the only constant. The building to be designed is the new mosque of Genoa. Applications must be submitted no later than 12:00 on June 10. For more information, please visit here.

Stockholm based Mattias Ståhlbom of TAF has created the Up table lamp for Danish brand Muuto. The lamp has a funnel-shaped rotating shade. The direction of the light can be changed by rotating the shade. According to the designer, “Up lamp mixes light and shadow to create a cosy and warm atmosphere anywhere it is placed. Through the profile of the lamp shade, Up elegantly interacts with the surrounding walls and ceiling. Inspired by the outline of industrial rooftops, Up directs a warm LED light upwards, while the 360 degrees rotating lamp shade and a smooth flicker-free dim function allow you to control both the light and mood in your room.” Photography: TAF

Flat is a wall coat rack made up of wooden modular panels and colored handles. Interactivity and customization are its distinguishing premises: scrolling the handles through the panels slits, it is possible to hang coats, hats, and bags in the way the user wants, why its modularity allows to adapt it to every space dimensions and characteristics. Used on an entire surface, Flat becomes an inedited wall covering solution.
